The Driving Academy and Alliance for Traffic Safety is an Indiana BMV approved online Driver Education course at www.a4ts.com!

OUR ONLINE COURSE IS AN ONLINE COURSE DEVELOPED IN INDIANA AND IS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR INDIANA STUDENTS!

(This Online Course is the 30 hours of classroom only and the student will still have to do 6 hours of behind the wheel training with an approved driver education school )The Driving Academy is also an Indiana BMV approved driver education school that provides both classroom and behind the wheel instruction. The behind the wheel Instruction is currently provided at our Greenwood and Ft. Wayne locations. If those locations are not convenient for you, then all you need to do is find a driving school that will provide you with the 6 hours of behind the wheel instruction conveniently located.

To be eligible for a license at 16 years and 180 days, your child must complete an approved driver education course. An approved driver education course consists of the minimum 30 hours of classroom (either a traditional classroom course or an approved online course) and six hours of behind the wheel training by a licensed instructor through a licensed driver education school.

Your child must be at least 15 years old before he/she can participate in either the classroom or behind the wheel phase of driver education.  You can register your child for a driver education course before he/she is 15 years old, but he/she cannot participate in driver education training until they have reached 15 years of age.

To Obtain a driver’s ed permit or learners permit, a “CDE” form will be provided by the school doing the 6 hours of behind the wheel instruction. Learner permits allow Indiana residents to practice driving before obtaining a driver’s license.

NOTE: THE CDE FORM (CERTIFICATE OF DRIVER EDUCATION) IS PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL THAT IS DOINGTHE 6 HOURS OF DRIVING INSTRUCTION.

Once the student has a permit he or she can drive with the parents ONLY AFTER they have attended the first class (classroom or behind the wheel) of your driver education course.
